Getting fit the freaky way: "Do Monkey Squashes Coconut" and throw balls at motivational phrases!
by Emma McAleavy
"Today we're gonna do the ‘Monkey Squash Coconut,'" our trainer told us. He proceeded to demonstrate this for those of us unfamiliar with some of the more creative crossfit workouts. He grabbed a giant rubber band that was wrapped around a high bar and proceed to pull it down to touch the ground. He repeated the gesture several times.
He looked a lot like a monkey squashing a coconut.

Keep yourself mobile and make sure you stretch. We provide a specific stretching series at the end of every workout. This is meant to help keep DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) at a minimum and to increase mobility. You know our general cool down sequence, but other times we have other things in mind.

If we see you need help with something, Adam or I will pull you off to the side and do some horrendous amazing things to you.

And we definitely enjoy it!

Adam, Tony, Todd L and myself will be attending the CrossFit Mobility Certification in late September.

Lucky you.

Our little hill

How are the runs, sprints, farmer's walks, waiter's walks, sled drags up our lovely little hill? Fun, aren't they?!

Notice, along with all the new equipment we just purchased, how many tire sleds I've been making?  There's going to be a lot of dragging, and I'm fine with that as long as you're not dragging ass!
